Boat rental in Barcelona costs €240 for 2 hours with us: a private boat for up to 6 people, captain, fuel, drinks and insurance included, nothing added at the harbour. Split six ways that is €40 per person for two hours with the whole boat to yourselves.
This guide is for anyone typing “boat rental Barcelona” into Google and getting a wall of marketplace listings. It covers what €240 actually buys, how it compares to those listings, and what our guests saw from the deck, with the photos they uploaded to Google themselves.
What €240 gets you
| Included | Detail |
|---|---|
| The boat | Private, only your group on board, up to 6 guests |
| Duration | 2 hours, extendable at €80 per extra hour |
| Captain | Qualified skipper, no licence needed on your side |
| Fuel | Included, whatever route you pick |
| Drinks and snacks | A bottle of wine, cava or champagne, or beers or soft drinks, plus water and snacks |
| Insurance | Included |
| Swim stop | Yes, off Barceloneta or Bogatell, whenever you like |
| Departure | Port Olímpic, central Barcelona |
The route is yours to decide. Most groups do the full waterfront: a swim off Barceloneta, Port Vell with the W hotel and the cable car, then along the beaches to the Fòrum. That itinerary is written up stop by stop in our 2-hour private boat tour guide.
Boat rental Barcelona: our prices vs the marketplaces
Search results for boat rental in Barcelona are dominated by Click&Boat, SamBoat, Nautal and GetMyBoat. They are useful for comparing hundreds of boats, but the headline price is rarely the price you pay.
| Nautiq (direct) | Typical marketplace listing | |
|---|---|---|
| 2 hours, boat for 6 | €240 final | From €250, boat only |
| Skipper | Included | Often €100 to €150 extra |
| Fuel | Included | Often billed on consumption |
| Platform fee | None | 10% to 20% on top |
| Minimum booking | 1 hour (€150) | Usually half a day |
| Drinks | Included | Bring your own |
The gap is not because our boat is worse. It is a classic Italian-built motorboat, kept spotless, and it lives in Port Olímpic, so there is no delivery cost. The gap is because you book direct with the operator and skip the middle layers.
Full price list, all durations:
| Duration | Total for the boat | Per person (6 guests) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | €150 | €25 |
| 2 hours | €240 | €40 |
| 3 hours | €320 | €54 |
| 4 hours | €400 | €67 |
No licence, no experience needed
Barcelona has a small fleet of licence-free rental boats, but they cap at low horsepower and you drive yourself. With us the captain comes with the boat. You get a faster, more comfortable boat, you can swim while someone qualified watches the anchor, and if you fancy steering outside the harbour, the helm is yours.
If you specifically want to drive yourself, read boat rental without a licence in Barcelona first. It explains the limits and when a skippered boat is the better deal.
What our guests saw
These photos were uploaded to our Google profile by guests after their trip. Nothing staged.

Daniel M. booked the late-afternoon slot and wrote that he could not give the trip more than 5 stars, the boat was spotless and the captain excellent.

Chantal D. came with a group of 6: a private trip with Victor that she found “increíble”, easy to book and highly recommended.

Monica B. D. took her kids and summed it up as a wonderful late afternoon watching Barcelona from the sea.
Right now we hold 5.0 on Google across 8 reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does boat rental in Barcelona cost?
With us a private boat for up to 6 people costs €150 for 1 hour or €240 for 2 hours, captain, fuel, drinks and insurance included. Each extra hour is €80. Marketplace listings for a comparable boat start from about €250 for the boat alone, before the skipper fee, fuel and platform commission.
Do I need a licence to rent a boat in Barcelona?
No. A qualified captain comes with the boat, so nobody in your group needs a licence or any experience. You can take the helm outside the harbour if you want to.
Is €240 the price per person or for the whole boat?
For the whole boat. Up to 6 guests share it, so with a full group it works out at €40 per person for 2 hours on a private boat.
Where does the boat leave from?
Port Olímpic, in the centre of Barcelona, 10 minutes on foot from Barceloneta beach and next to the Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica metro stop.
Can we cancel or change the date?
Changing the date is free up to 48 hours before. Cancelling more than 7 days ahead refunds 100% of the deposit, between 7 days and 48 hours refunds 50%. If you paid by card, a 3% payment processing fee is non-refundable and is deducted from the refund. If the captain calls off the trip for weather you get a new date or a full refund.
What is the best time for boat rental in Barcelona?
May to October for swimming. The late-afternoon slot ending at sunset is the most requested and sells out first in July and August. The price is the same at every hour of the day.
