Do I need a licence to rent a boat in Barcelona?
No. Every boat we hire out (day boat charter, sunset cruise, private boat trip, catamaran, Llafranc trip, team building) is run by a professional captain - no licence or sailing experience needed, ever.
Where do the boats depart from?
All boat rentals and nautical experiences depart from Port Olímpic in central Barcelona - 10 minutes from Plaça Catalunya and easily reachable by metro (L4 Ciutadella – Vila Olímpica). E-foil sessions take place on the adjacent beach.
What is the best time of year to sail in Barcelona?

Can I hire a boat in Barcelona without a skipper?
No - we no longer offer self-drive hire. Every boat in our fleet comes with a professional skipper included in the price, which means you never need a licence, and you get someone who knows the best coves and the local weather. Prices start at €150 for the first hour on the private motorboat.
How many people fit on the boat?
The private motorboat takes up to 6 guests, our sailing yachts up to 11, the catamaran up to 26 and the large catamaran up to 125 guests for parties, corporate events and video shoots.
Can I rent a boat by the hour or for half a day?
Yes. The private boat trip starts at 1 hour for €150 final price (up to 6 guests, drinks included), the private sunset is 2 hours for €240, a 4-hour skippered session is from €699 and the full 8-hour day charter is from €990.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 7 or more days before departure and you get 100% of the deposit back, between 48 hours and 7 days you get 50%, and under 48 hours or a no-show is non-refundable. Date changes are free up to 48 hours before. If you paid by card, a 3% payment processing fee is non-refundable and is deducted from the refund. If the skipper cancels for weather we reschedule first, or refund 100%.
Is Nautiq Barcelona insured?
Yes. Nautiq Barcelona holds professional liability insurance (travel agency civil liability) with worldwide coverage up to €300,000 per claim, underwritten with Occident, covering business, employer, and transport and third-party services liability.
